Our Emotions and Our Health

Our Emotions and Our Health

I have found that anger will manifest if our perception is not congruent with another person. Perception is in the eye of the beholder and even though two people may be looking at the same situation they will perceive based on their own interpretation. This can be influenced by their past hurts, insecurities and life experiences. If one fails to communicate their view of the situation properly then another can take offense and anger can present itself. Anger is not necessarily a bad emotion, I think God gave us anger as a protective measure and the Bible says “do not sin in your anger” (Ephesians 4:26).

I think the problem arises when the combination of bad perception along with miscommunication combines and anger causes sin to occur. The sin of anger will bring about resentment and prevent forgiveness. Holding on to the hurt that was caused by uncontrolled anger will contribute to our perception of future situations, as well as inhibit our communication. These three factors are a vicious cycle that unless dealt with through the Holy Spirit can cause ongoing strife in our lives.

Anger can also be a contributing factor to disease. This is why it is best to let go of resentment, jealousy and malicious thoughts. All of these have their root in anger and can manifest into a physical problem if left unchecked. This is why God speaks of forgiveness throughout scripture. Some people are enslaved to their past, pain, and burn with anger, resentment, even bitterness. They just cannot seem to let go and cannot forgive. Although a challenging issue in everyday life, we must learn that forgiveness is essential in the healing process. Without forgiveness true healing will never occur.

However, how do we let go of anger from a holistic standpoint? There are several ideas that come to mind: First is to pray about the emotion that you are having and allow God to release you from its bondage. Secondly, find someone who can help you work through the emotions you are experiencing, such as a licensed Christian counselor.

From a Naturopathic standpoint Bach flower therapy is a wonderful way to balance the negative energy our emotions can create. Have you walked into a room before and actually felt the air heavy with tension? Dr. Bach found that negative emotions would eventually become a physical manifestation if they were held within the body. He also found 38 essences, which balance the body out from an energetic perspective. The flower essences have a positive vibration and our emotions carry a negative vibration. By using Specific remedies, one can allow the body to restore balance. Our Lord is a wonderful Creator! He has placed everything on earth to help us maintain our “temple” which is actually His temple. Flowers are beautiful to behold and calm our senses, why would that be thier only purpose.

Skin Brushing

Hi Tina,

Here are the directions for Dry Skin Brushing, Please call me if you have any questions.

Skin brushing is a wonderful way to open up an area of elimination through the largest organ in the body “You’re Skin”! Shedding of skin is a natural process which our bodies are constantly doing. Skin brushing is a highly effective technique for assisting the lymphatic system and boosting circulation. The following are guidelines to help you get started: Always use a “Natural Bristle” Brush such as Bass which you can find in your local health food store. If you use the script I gave Eileen you will receive 10% off the purchase.

Directions for Skin Brushing

Skin brushing should be done before showering.

Brush in long firm strokes towards the heart.

You can use a chair or your bathtub to prop one foot up at a time.

Brush firmly under the sole of the foot and move up and all around the leg.

Repeat on the other foot and leg.

Gently brush the hips and buttocks ( these areas may turn slightly pink)

Brush your hands and arms (remember always away from your extremities)

Stroke your belly in a clockwise direction (to follow the flow of the colon)

Brush up the sides of your ribs.

Brush up under the breasts (Ladies, be aware of the consistency of your breasts as you do this).

Brush under your chin and down the top ribs, then reach behind with the long handle and scrub your back as thoroughly as possible.

Brush shoulders.

You can also us a small soft brush for your face if you choose to do so.

When your body starts to detoxify you may release toxins that have been stored in the colon or in fats cells which can create a variety of reactions. These reactions do not occur with everyone but some may experience a slight headache, mild depression and fatigue. Your skin may break out as toxins are eliminated. The symptoms are usually of short duration and the following can be used to help alleviate them:

      1. Drink more water to flush toxins through the kidneys.

     2. Make sure you are eating well with whole foods and avoiding processed.

Use bentonite (clay) baths to pull toxins through the skin. These baths may be taken twice daily: use ½ cup of liquid clay in a tub of warm (Not Hot) water and soak for 20 minutes. After rinse in the shower.

If PH is acidic you can also use 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of ebson salt and 2 ginger capsules to soak in for 20 min and then shower.

Enjoy your brushing,

Breast Cancer and Blood Type A

October 30th, 2008

Blood Group A cancer Immunologic Factors

Blood group A exhibits increased levels of P-glycoprotein which may indicate why individuals may not respond to conventional chemotherapy as well as other blood groups. The newer chemotherapies, which are monoclonal antibodies, such as trastuzumab may have a more causative affect because of their ability to target cancer cells. The data from these studies show very positive results. An increase in survival rate had improved survival rates to 52% compared to standard chemotherapy. It would be interesting to know what percentage of patients in this particular study (B-31) were Blood Group “A”. It appears that a more integrated treatment protocol should be considered using conventional modalities as well as dietary modifications. Or better yet, change the diet prior to diagnosis to alter the odds of cancer metastasis.

Blood Group “A” individuals have a very low immunologic response to T and Tn antigens because they share the same sugar (N-acetygalactosamine). This allows the cancer cells to bypass the immune system and replicate with little interference from the Type A antibodies. Breast cancer in general can be very invasive depending on how well-differentiated the cancer cells appear. The more differentiated a cancer cell becomes; the greater it’s ability to adhere to other cells. A blood group “A” individual with a breast cancer diagnosis must primarily focus on creating a nutritional strategy which will have an effect on cancer survivorship.

A good foundation would be to open up areas of elimination by incorporating infra-red saunas, hydrotherapy, dry skin brushing and focusing on the digestion. Making sure the body has fewer chemicals to contend with on a daily basis so that the body has more energy to heal. Consume foods that are Blood group specific for “A” such as Vegetables, Tofu, Grains, Beans and Fruit which are all from the highly beneficial foods within the Fruit and Vegetable sections. Avoiding foods which contain lectins that blood type “A” cannot assimilate. Supporting the body with herbal Tea’s that are highly beneficial and blood purifiers (unless contraindicated by chemotherapy) Avoid meat protein especially charcoal grilled. Increase daily intake of purified water.

Cancer has a physiological, emotional and spiritual component. Food also has an affect on these areas. If we consume the wrong foods and continue in a pattern that is detrimental to our bodies, we have the ability to influence all of the above. This is why the blood type diet makes complete sense; G-d is amazing…He leaves puzzles for man to solve and waits patiently for someone to figure it out. He also say’s his people perish for lack of knowledge; It is a blessing to be able to share this information and make an impact on the Individual’s health and the health of generations to come.

Sincerely,

Melissa Bennett, ND

Natural Therapy for Bladder Control.

How can reflexology help with bladder control?

Reflexology is a wonderful way to aid the body in natural healing. Many systems benefit from the balancing effect of this ancient therapy. The feet have numerous reflex points which relate to all parts of the body. These reflex points are found on the soles, the top, and the sides of the feet. These reflex areas connect to the entire body through meridians or energy channels. The hands can be massaged when it is not possible to work on the feet. Although the hands are not as sensitive as the feet initially, they will become more sensitive to the method when worked on with Reflexology massage. By massaging the various areas, a diagnosis of the parts of the body which are out of balance, therefore not working efficiently can be made and treatment given to correct these imbalances and thus return the body to good working order. Therefore the whole of the body is treated and not just the symptoms.

How can acupuncture therapy be used to treat urinary incontinence in women? Is it effective for all types of incontinence?

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat physical problems. The primary therapy consists of stimulating certain areas along the 14 meridian channels that are throughout the body. Acupuncture Chinese medical experts believe that incontinence is caused by a lack of energy in the kidney and spleen and their related meridians. To combat this imbalance, they work on the points that correspond to these areas and to the bladder. Acupressure Points that may be focused on during an acupressure session to treat incontinence are Conception Vessel 2, Spleen 6, and related auricular points.

What herbs or nutritional supplements have proven effective in treating urinary incontinence in women?

I personally an advocate of Dr’ D’adamo’s Eat Right 4 Your Type. This is based on the theory that certain foods are more beneficial for you depending upon your specific blood type. I have had great results using this protocol in my practice. Supplements are exactly what they are; they supplement the vitamins and minerals that you may not be getting in our food supply. They are not to replace proper nutrition that we get from eating nutritious whole foods. The following is a list of nutritional supplements that are known for building up the body and may be beneficial to those that suffer with incontinence.

You should work with your health care provider to get your problem diagnosed before starting any treatment

A multivitamin daily, containing the antioxidant vitamins A, C, D, E, the B-vitamins and trace minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, and selenium.

Calcium citrate, 500 - 1000 mg daily, for bone and muscle support.

Vitamin D, 400 IU daily, for bone and muscle support. You can also get Vitamin D from the sun in moderation.

Magnesium citrate, 200 - 400 mg daily, for muscle support.

Probiotic supplement (containing Lactobacillus acidophilus ), 5 - 10 billion CFUs (colony forming units) a day, for maintenance of gastrointestinal and immune health. You should refrigerate your probiotic supplements for best results.

Omega-3 fatty acids, such as fish oil, 1 - 2 capsules or 1 tbs. of oil one to two times daily, to help decrease inflammation and improve immunity. Cold-water fish, such as salmon or halibut, are good sources.

During menopause Essential Fatty Acids provide nutrients that allow the body to make sufficient estrogen.

L-theanine, 200 mg one to three times daily, for nervous system support.

Acetyl-L-carnitine, 500 mg daily, for antioxidant and muscle protective activity.

Herbs

Herbs are generally a safe way to strengthen and tone the body's systems. Astringent herbs have a drying effect. You may use herbs as dried extracts (capsules, powders, teas), glycerites (glycerine extracts), or tinctures (alcohol extracts). Unless otherwise indicated, you should make teas with 1 tsp. herb per cup of hot water. Steep covered 5 - 10 minutes for leaf or flowers, and 10 - 20 minutes for roots. Drink 2 - 4 cups per day. You may use tinctures alone or in combination as noted. Always check with your health professional if you are currently taking medication.

The following herbal remedies may provide relief from symptoms:

Cranberry ( Vaccinium macrocarpon ) standardized extract, 300 - 400 mg daily, for kidney health. You may also drink 8 - 16 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice daily.

Green tea ( Camellia sinensis ) standardized extract, 250 - 500 mg daily, for antioxidant and immune effects. Use caffeine-free products. You may also prepare teas from the leaf of this herb.

St. John's wort ( Hypericum perforatum ) standardized extract, 300 mg two to three times per day, for symptoms of urinary incontinence. Check with your health care provider if you are taking prescription medications.

Can yoga be effective in treating female urinary incontinence? If so, how does it help?

Yoga is an exceptional way to keep your body in tune with its inner self. This art was also practiced for thousands of years. Yoga is especially good for those who are Blood Type A. A yoga exercise called the stomach lock can help strengthen muscles in the lower abdomen, increasing bladder control, says Alice Christensen, founder and executive director of the American Yoga Association. Her instructions for the exercise: Lie on your back and take a deep breath. Breathe out until the breath is completely gone, and then pull in your buttock, groin and stomach muscles hard. Hold for a count of three, then release your muscles. This exercise should not be performed if there are any contraindications such as a hiatalhernia or low back issues.

What other types of natural or alternative treatments are effective for treating urinary incontinence in women?

BioFeedback may be effective for incontinence. Biofeedback is a safe, noninvasive, painless, and effective use of instruments, now usually computerized, to provide continuous information about subtle changes in aspects of your body's functioning related to your symptoms. Its purpose is to teach you to regulate the physical responses underlying symptoms. It thus falls into the categories of behavioral medicine and mind-body education. (In other words, it can be seen as both a medical intervention and an educational experience.)

What lifestyle changes can women make to prevent the development of urinary incontinence?

I personally feel Kegel exercises are extremely beneficial in preventing urinary incontinence. They are also great to do during pregnancy to help strengthen the uterus.

Incontinence Network reports that between 50 - 75% of patients who perform only Kegel exercises experience a substantial improvement in their symptoms, including elderly people who have had the problem for years. A 2006 review suggested that Kegel exercises are especially helpful for women in their 40s and 50s who suffer from stress incontinence.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

A Wart's Story

When one thinks of warts they usually visualize a beautiful princess kissing a wart ridden frog. But all is not as it appears...occasionally the Princess is the one infected with those pesky warts. Where they appear typically depends on what type of wart is raising its ugly head. Warts are non-cancerous skin growths that are caused by a virus (HPV or Human Papillomavirus) that inhabits the top layer of the skin. The virus can invade your skin through small cuts and breaks. This is one of the reasons your Mom told you to always wear your shoes outside. Children, teens, and people with allergies or weakened immune systems are more vulnerable to the wart virus. Each person’s immune system responds to warts differently, meaning not everyone who comes in contact with HPV will develop warts.

Warts that appear on the feet are known as plantar warts. They not only affect the appearance of the skin but also can cause pain and discomfort. Most plantar warts do not stick up above the skin surface like those found on other parts of the body. The pressure of walking flattens them and pushes them back into the skin. Groups of many small closely set foot plantar warts are called mosaic warts. A foot doctor known as A Podiatrist will make a definitive diagnosis and determine if your wart is truly a wart and that it is not corn or calluses. The following are some of the things to look for if you think you are experiencing Plantar Warts:

· Rough round or oval lesions on soles of the feet.

· May be lighter or darker than the skin

· Flat to slightly raised and painful to pressure

· Rough growths around toenails

· Warts may appear spongy, with tiny red, brown or black spots.

· They can grow up to an inch across, occurring alone (solitary)

· They can also grow in clusters (mosaic)

There are many ways to treat warts from a medically. The primary options are Medication or surgical removal or the combination of both. Freezing or burning may also be used to treat warts…but even after warts are removed, they may recur. There are also many alternative therapies that have been used to rid warts. My own grandmother placed a grasshopper on my Aunt’s wart and the grasshopper proceeded to eat off the wart. I personally do not recommend this…first of all it seems a little dangerous, especially with the bleeding that may ensue. Also there is something a little creepy about having a grasshopper digesting your wart . Many other natural remedies are listed on the web and if you do a general search on Google you will find thousands of natural remedies and testimonials. They consist of people who have tried and received remarkable results and those who have not been as lucky.

I personally have my own testimony regarding Plantar Warts and I would like to share this with you…hopefully you will have the same remarkable results. My 12 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with this condition. I was not one of the Mom’s that said you should always wear you shoes outside. I noticed she wasn’t putting pressure on her right foot one day and I asked her if she was ok. She told me that she had stepped on something about a month ago. Thanks for telling me “A Month Later”! I took a look at it and noticed one central area on her heel that was slightly raised and several areas surrounding the center that looked as though they were spreading outward from the center. I brought her to the podiatrist and she was diagnosed with the infamous “Plantar Wart”. The doctor gave me the following options; Topical Medication which he said may or may not be effective, in-office removal which could be painful or the final choice which is more effective and a lot less painful, day surgery in an outpatient hospital with laser removal. He is a very nice doctor and if I were not a Naturopath I would have taken one of the options he had presented. But being a Naturopath, I wanted to try something first just to see if I could get results on my own before making my decision.

I had recently incorporated an ionic foot detox into my practice. For those not familiar with the ionic foot bath you can read details on my website under gentle detox services. I had heard many wonderful testimonies regarding this particular unit and I wanted to see for myself how effective it could be. The whole premise behind the ionic detox is to bring toxins out of the body by ionization so I pondered what a better way to eliminate a viral infection embedded within the foot. I set Sydnie up on a 3 week protocol consisting of 4 foot detox foot baths for 30 minutes and used the following products topically: Colloidal Silver From natures Sunshine, Oil of Oregano from source naturals and GSE from nutribiotic.

I noticed a slight change in appearance after the first two foot baths. On The third foot bath you could see the little black specks arising to the surface of her foot and amazingly on the fourth foot bath there were nothing left but empty areas where the warts used to reside. Sydnie and I were completely astonished! I was not expecting to get results this quickly and to be honest I was not sure if this technique would work at all. I am continuing to apply Thuja Ointment as a preventative.

I have posted pics of Sydnie's foot after the last foot bath. You can see where the warts were located within the not so little craters on her heel. I hope this information helps others in there pursuit of ridding themselves of Plantar warts. I cannot guarantee you will get the same results but it is definitely worth trying and always get advice from your primary physician prior to any course of treatment.

Natural Solutions to help you Sleep

Dear Jim,

I am sorry to hear that you are not sleeping throughout the night. Without enough restful sleep, you may feel like your dragging through the day. You can also become less sharp mentally, less productive, and more vulnerable—both emotionally and physically. Over time, insufficient sleep can impact your immune function and make you feel tired. If your immune system is compromised over time you may find yourself catching colds more often or just feeling like the “little train that couldn’t”. In any event, it is good to follow up with your medical doctor to see if there is an underlying condition which could causing your sleep disturbance. There are many natural solutions to choose from for sleep deprivation.

Getting enough sleep is one of the most difficult tasks some of you have to do each day. Years ago our forefathers would wake when the sun rose and sleep when the sunset each day. We are now a society with artificial light 24 hours a day. Light inhibits the production of melatonin in our bodies. For those who have difficulty going to sleep it is best to stay out of your bed until you really feel the need to sleep or feel the need to do other things that may require a bed J Otherwise do not lie in your bed and try to get to count sheep. Also make sure all light sources including clock radios, TV and any other night light are limited to help increase melatonin.

The following are some recommendations that may assist you naturally in getting a Goods night sleep:

Bach Flowers: Bach flowers are wonderful to help you sleep especially when you have thoughts that will not cease. They are also a solution to a good nights sleep without feeling like you need to take sleeping tablets. They have been used for many years by people all over the world as solution to insomnia because they are natural, safe and very effective. The Bach Flower Remedies work with the cause. The reason you cannot sleep, or why you wake up and cannot get back to sleep. They are able to relax you mind, slow down those thought processes allowing you to have a full nights sleep.

Melatonin: Melatonin is the hormone released by your pineal gland at night, helping you to fall asleep. As we age our production of melatonin begins to decline. Studies have suggested that supplementing with 300 mcg of melatonin can help you sleep better at night. My only concern with long term use of melatonin is the possibility that your body may become dependant upon this supplementation. If you choose to try this make sure you take breaks between usages.

Acupressure: Acupressure is closely related to acupuncture, as both are used to restore the proper flow of body energy. But, unlike acupuncture—which requires needles and can only be done by a trained practitioner—acupressure uses the application of gentle finger pressure to specific points on the skin, and you can do it yourself.

A growing body of clinical evidence confirms that acupressure is effective in treating sleep disturbances. A study published in Neurophysiologie Clinique reported that stimulus of a specific acupressure point on the wrist resulted in decreased wakefulness and increased total sleep time. Another study, published in the Journal of Chinese Medicine, reported that 13 night-crying infants all ceased night crying after only three treatment sessions.

The two acupressure points traditionally used to induce sleep are the Spirit Gate and the Inner Gate. The Inner Gate is located in the middle of the inner side of the forearm, two and one-half finger widths from your wrist. The Spirit Gate is located on the inside of the wrist crease, in line with the little finger.

To promote sleep, apply pressure to one point and then the other. You’ll soon learn whether you get the most benefit from pressing both points or one in particular. Applying pressure to these points while you're asleep can also help assure restorative, uninterrupted sleep. In the United Kingdom, pharmacists sell an anti-insomnia kit: a disposable cone that is fixed to the correct acupressure point on the wrist, and can be worn all night. You can make your own kit by simply taping a dry bean—like a kidney bean or pinto bean—to the point you want to stimulate.

Get Moving: Exercise calms both body and mind. It is best not to exercise right before bed times because our bodies have a difficult time going into shutdown if to many endorphins are circulating. Try exercising for 30 minutes early in the day and see if that has a beneficial effect on your sleep.

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP): 5-HTP is a derivative of the amino acid L-tryptophan. This precursor to serotonin has a calming influence and is very effective in helping you get sound, restful sleep. Of the eight essential amino acids, tryptophan is the least common. Most protein sources supply some tryptophan, but the foods that are highest include poultry, fish, eggs, and cheese. Avocado, banana, dates, figs, grapefruit, oranges, papaya, peach, pear, persimmon, pineapple, strawberry, and tomato also contain decent amounts of tryptophan.

You can also 50 mg of 5-HTP before bedtime. It’s important to note that, for maximum relief, you should eat a carbohydrate snack at the same time you take the 5-HTP to encourage 5-HTP uptake, particularly if you use it during the day.

Aromatherapy: A whiff of an essential oil can alter your brain's neurochemistry and produce physiological and psychological changes in seconds. Lavender, for example, increases the alpha brain waves associated with relaxation and induces sleep. Add lavender oil to your bath, rub it into your feet, or spray it on your bed linens.

Finding the right sleep remedy isn't always easy, and everyone will benefit from different approaches. But hopefully from this list you’ll find one that works for you.

God Bless You And Sweet Dreams,

For Butter or For Worse...

What is the difference between margarine and butter? This information has been circulating for many years and has been debated in many forums… The majority have found the material to be based on factual information. The following link lists different research studies that support the context

www.nutrition4health.org/NOHAnews/NNF88MargarineOrButter.htm

Butter

Both have the same amount of calories. Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating
the same amount of butter according to a Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter's been around for centuries; margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

Margarine...

Very high in Trans Fatty Acids... Triple risk of Coronary Heart Disease.

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad
cholesterol)

Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

AND HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... This fact alone is enough to consider eliminating margarine from your daily intake including other foods that are hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

This is an interesting experiment: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice the following: You will not see any flies, it will not rot nor smell different because it has no nutritional value, microorganisms will not find a home to replicate. Margarine is not a natural substance so it does not decompose the same as a natural substance. If the environment has such a difficult time breaking down Margarine’s chemical composition, imagine the effort your body must make to do the same.

This may be a better alternative:

Clarified Butter also known as Ghee is an ingredient in many Middle Eastern dishes. Natural Health Practitioners believe that this is a healthier form of butter because you are eliminating the majority of fat content. Ghee can be quite expensive in the stores so making it in your own kitchen is easy and inexpensive. You can stores ghee in an airtight container on a pantry shelf.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound unsalted butter

PREPARATION:

Using a medium saucepan, heat butter on medium heat.

Allow butter to melt and bring to a boil, stirring. You will notice that the oil will separate itself. The top will begin to froth; remove froth.

Allow the oil to become clear. Once, clear, remove from heat and allow cooling for 15 minutes.

After cooling, strain ghee through a very fine strainer into container or jar, or through 3-5 layers of cheesecloth.

Put lid on container and store on shelf.

Ghee is also beneficial to type O blood types that are diabetic. Especially those who consume large amounts of margarine. It does appear from most television adds that margarine is the better choice but you may want to research a little before you consume major amounts of margarine.

Apple Cider Vineger and Sinus Infections

Sinus infection, or sinusitis, is an inflammation of the sinuses and nasal passages. Symptoms of a sinus infection include a headache or pressure in the eyes, cheeks, nose, or on one side of the head. Other symptoms may include nasal congestion with thick nasal secretions, cough, fever or bad breath.

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is a popular remedy for stopping sinus infections. It is an amazing home remedy. Taken as a preventative it has an alkalizing effect on the body. It is beneficial to take apple cider vinegar before the sinus infection occurs, which for most people is at the start of allergies, colds, flu, etc.

We have found that when apple cider vinegar is taken either as a daily tonic or at the first sign of an allergy or cold (i.e., sinus headache, stuffy nose, and watery eyes), one can completely stop the histamine response or allergic reaction.

There are a couple ways you can drink apple cider vinegar (aqua ACV). One way is to put 1/8 to 1/4 cup ACV in 16 oz of water and sip it throughout the day. The other method is to gulp 2 TBLSP of ACV in 8 Oz of water all at once.

If you have an existing sinus infection, keep drinking a mixture of ACV and water throughout the day for several days.

Apple Cider Vinegar can also be inhaled to help with the symptoms of an existing sinus infection. To do this boil a cup of spring or distilled water and a cup of apple cider vinegar and inhale it with your eyes and mouth closed. It is not pleasant, but it should work immediately.
